"A successful man is someone who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of others and the love of children; who leaves the world better than he found it; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty ; who always looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. "
- a variation of "Success" by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Farm Visit

We visited Homestead Farm this weekend. It was very educational for Alvin. He met many farm animals and had good touch of different fruits like Blackberries and Peaches.

It was also the first time Alvin in a baby carrier (yes, it is kind of late), but he likes the VIP view.

Swimming Pool

Every first experience with Alvin is exciting...but we were not looking forward to the first swimming pool experience with him.

Alvin loves to play with water in his bathtub. However, he doesn't like the cold feeling from touching room temperature water. The parents knew it would be tough to get him into swimming pool so they started training on him couple months back. Everytime, the parents would wash his feet while washing his hands before meals. That really helps!

When it is the time to get into the pool, mom first sat down in the pool and sat Alvin on her laps. Alvin were also accompanied by his bath time friends - the duck mom and the ducky.

We then gradually moved downward to the pool and put his feet in the water and make the kicking water fun.
Once he got used to the water temperature, mom sat him down in the water and embraced him in a circle with his duck friends.

Soon, Alvin is on his own!

Finally, he has the whole pool!

So, the first pool experience wasn't bad at all! For the daddies, please don't assume your babies will love the pool and throw them into water! Take your time and they will finally get there!

The Birthday Party

So, the drama begins when the brave parents decided to host a big birthday party for their baby Alvin without his consensus.

Poor guests, the mom is still reading instructions on how to cook the food.

While parents are hunting for foods, the kids are enjoying their water splash and wood art painting.

Whoever did this wood art painting is very good. We are sure all others are good too!

The piñata game draws everyone’s attention. One is down, and the second one is coming down also. Good hit, Daren!

While parents are still hunting for foods, the kids are hunting for their toys and candies.

Don’t we just love this picture? Mu Lan is so relaxing…

While the older kids are outside having funs, we are getting a group pictures for the infant babies. Hey, these two wrestlers, please look at the camera!

Finally, here comes the birthday boy and the parents.
No wonder why Alvin has been fussy all evening. The paparazzi are invading his privacy.

Alvin has some happy moments too

That concludes our party. We top the record with 68 guests in total, including 8 infant babies and 13 kids. If you ever want to break this record, please either take our advise - don't do it, or call us for mental distress consultation and disaster recovery. :0

A Year later

Mom still remembers the same day last year how anxious she was to meet her baby face-to-face. A year later, the baby becomes parents' big boy. Alvin's every smile and every move make all the hardwork worthwhile. We enjoy every bit of the parenthood.

After dinner, Alvin finally got a chance to open his birthday gifts! He is spoiled by all the loving uncles and aunties! Many thanks to all of you!!!

With Clayton

(following pictures were taken couple months back)

Clayton and I are close friends. We are just 2 weeks apart and we have many similarities.

We both slim because we both love playing toys more than eating foods.

We both love music notes.

But, you know what? Friends don't just hit...

And steal...

And run...

By the Lake

It was a perfect day for a lakeside walk! Alvin was introduced to many wild animals and plants.

Wow...you stay away from me...I don't have any food for you...

Yes. I want you. I am talking to you...

Am I cute?

I think I look much cuter!

We both cute...

I wish I can be free like you guys...

My mom told me, Black Eyes Susan is our State Flower.

This one is called "Hot Dog Grass".

Birds are singing on the tree (they always wake me up in the morning).

An unnamed wild flower. very pretty.

Too much to learn. It is better to take a nap to skip the lesson.
