"A successful man is someone who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of others and the love of children; who leaves the world better than he found it; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty ; who always looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. "
- a variation of "Success" by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Happy Holidays

Dear friends,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

Cannot believe another year has flied by so quick, and more importantly, we survive with lot of work and very little sleep! For the past year, over all the boys have been listening and behaving well (oh well, more or less). We were lucky that both Yuelun's parents and my parents visited us, helped us out and spent some quality time with their grandchildren. Life has been wonderful!

Alvin is three and half now. He is still sweet, smart and loves music. He started to write letters and words by himself couple months back and he also loves to draw pictures. He joined a soccer team not long ago and enjoys it more than anyone else.

Mason is some one special. If you know Alvin well, Mason is just the complete opposite. If you ask him to "come", he would "go". If you say "No", he would just take it as a "Yes". The worst of all, he has that innocent smile on his chubby face and you know he is exempt from being punished.

Good or bad, Mom is now officially a soccer mom. But, between her new job in Georgetown and taking care of the boys, she still finds time to relax and remain her sanity.

Daddy has more bond with the boys now as he takes more responsibilities around the house. He often finds himself cleaning Mason's face twice and then finds out the spaghetti sauce is still on Alvin's face.

That is a good summary of our daily life. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do. We wish you all a spectacular 2010!

Are you sure?

"Are you sure you want to restore the system?"

Yes, that is what displayed on our laptop when Daddy seized back it from Mason's hands. It was a very close call to have our pictures and everything else wiped out on the laptop.

Next time before you allow your toddler to touch your computer, think twice.

It is winter!

It is officially winter time!

Fall into Fall

Well, it is a beautiful Fall day so we dragged our exhausted bodies to take the boys to Falls Road playground and then headed straight to DC for some extensive touring.

If they are always close to each other like this, we could have another one!

Salute to President Thomas Jefferson?

I love this picture. Don't you?

A-Z and 1-10

Alvin is moving along with his writing skills lately. He can now write letters A to Z and number 1 to 10 on his own without supervising. And, he is very proud of himself.

Spoo-tacular

This Halloween is the first Halloween Alvin really knows what the holiday is about (candies, candies and candies) and he really enjoyed.

=== Trunk or Treat by local community church ===

Thomas and NASA Astronaut went to "Trunk or Treat" and hunted quite some candies.

There were many good displays. But, we cast our vote to Shrek, even though it scared Alvin a bit at the beginning.

=== Avlin's Daycare Parade and Party ===

=== Our neighborhood party ===

Christmas Carol

It was in early October but we got a little bit taste of Christmas already.

The movie "Christmas Carol" just came out last weekend but we were invited to its train tour in B&O Railroad Museum in Baltimore in earlier October. The 3D high tech movie didn't attract my boys that much but they loved the railroad museum. Especially for Mason, playing with trains is his life.

B&O Railroad Museum in downtown Baltimore

This museum is so spectacular! It has over 50 real trains on display and also a mini train display. The boys went wild!

Our future Engineers ...

If you know a little bit background of this movie, you probably want to know how to create the movie. Here are some hints:
1. They have these mini scriptures nicely crafted.

2. They have real actors and actresses like this one. And, of course, our family were invited to be in the movie also. They use their animation software to transform an actor/actress face into an animation character.

Can you tell following three "famous" actors and actress from our family?

3. Then they put the scences and characters together and they place motion sensors on faces and bodies of the actors and actresses to make the movie more like a real movie!
