Happy Holidays! Hope this letter find everyone peace and comfort.
The highlight of the year for us is our 3 weeks china visit with the boys. We travelled 5 cities (ShangHai, NingBo, GuangZhou, DongGuan and HongKong) within this short period of time, not to mention it was the hottest 3 weeks of the year! After 5 airplanes, 1 overnight train and many car trips, the boys have become world travelers! It was very nice to see all our extended families and the precious memories will always stay with us.
Just blink of an eye, Alvin is already a kindergartener! Other than Mom being called to school the first week and getting red and yellow flags once a while, Alvin has been doing a tremendous job at his school! The school and the teachers have given him opportunities to expand his interests in various areas, learn from peers and understand how to be a team player. He often comes home with big words like “I need to do my Science Project” or “This is for Social Study”. It makes us feel that we need to reevaluate the things we do at work.
Mason is growing up little by little. He still wants to be a baby and he is still mom’s baby. He copies everything his older brother does and he goes everywhere with his brother. He is very smart in many ways, knowing how to stay out of troubles, asking things in a diplomatic way and showing charms to others if necessary. He has his own mind set and set his own pace on learning new things. Bottom line, you cannot force him to do anything against his will. Isn’t it the early sign of stubborn?
Mom had been in stone-age for the longest time. She refused to use smart phone and iPad until one day the boys corrupted her. No matter how hard she tries, she cannot get over level 2 of the Angry Birds game. After learning from Alvin that there are different types of birds, some hits stone, some lays eggs, some explodes, etc., she thinks it is better to just stay at level 2.
Dad is the same old boy, just having more shading to his hair. He enjoys the bonding moments with the boys and more importantly, he can now play the games he didn’t get to enjoy when he was a child.
Enclosed please find a picture of the boys. Wish everyone happy holidays!
Allen, Hope, Alvin and Mason
