"A successful man is someone who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of others and the love of children; who leaves the world better than he found it; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty ; who always looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. "
- a variation of "Success" by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Iceland Adventure - The Golden Circle

The Golden Circle is the most popular site to visit if you have a short stay in Iceland.

Volcano Crater Kerid

Geyser Hot Spring

Gullfoss Waterfalls

Thingvellir National Park

This National Park is truly an amazing place to visit.  The 8 kilometer long eruptive fissure opened up the stunning rock formations.  Lake Thingvallavatn with the golden fall color as the backdrop is the most beautiful picture you can paint.

Iceland Adventure - The Scenic South Coast Vistas

South coast of Iceland is one of the most beautiful areas in Iceland.  Along the coastline, you can see amazing waterfalls, majestic mountains, gorgeous glaciers, beautiful rock formations, and black sand beaches.

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

Gljufrabui Waterfall

Skogafoss Waterfall

Eyjafjallajokull Glacier

If you come to Iceland, you have to learn how to pronounce Eyjafjallajokull.  Eyja means Islands, Fjalla means Mountains, and Jokull means Glacier.  Its fame is not only coming from its nearly impossible pronunciation, more importantly, its eruption in 2010 caused the closure of Europe flight space for several days and stranded millions of travelers.

Myrdalsjokull Glacier

A week before we came, the Katla volcano beneath Myrdalsjokull Glacier was very active and official even closed down the roads to the glacier.  We were lucky that it did not erupt where we were there!

Dyrholaey Nature Reserve

Iceland Adventure - Caveman

The boys were very excited for their trip to go into the Glacier.  The Langjokull Glacier is to the northeast of Reykjavik and it is the third biggest glacier in Iceland.  On the way to the mountains, we spot double rainbow!

Hraunfossar Waterfalls

Hraun means lava, fossar means Waterfalls.  What a beautiful natural phenomena, with the Fall golden color!  The water flows through where the lava once traveled.

Vidgelmire Cave

Because of the strong wind, the Glacier was closed.  We visited a nearby lava cave instead.  It was so much fun to experiment how Lava was once flowed in this 1585 meter tube!
