"A successful man is someone who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of others and the love of children; who leaves the world better than he found it; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty ; who always looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. "
- a variation of "Success" by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Race Across America

While we were at the Annapolis dock over the weekend, we saw some of the finalists of Race Across America! The race is from Oceanside, CA to Annapolis, MD, a little bit over 3000 miles.

Here are some pictures.

Isn't that amazing - they can finish 3000+ miles in less than 9 days?! It is more than 400 miles a day!

But that is not it! One of the teams is called "Great Grand Pac Masters". Those four teammates are all over 75 years old. They finished their race in 8 days 14 hours and 49 minutes! I saw someone commented them on a blog "These outstanding 75+ year old men did phenomenal in this year’s race and have proven that age is just a number. They completed the 3021 mile race in 8 days 14 hours and 49 minutes. I plan to share their story with every one I know in hopes that it encourages and inspires others to follow their dreams and not let age determine what they can or cannot accomplish. You guys will always have a place in my memory as some of the greatest cyclists to ever compete in Race Across America. Great Grand Pac Masters…"I will ride until the sand runs out!""

It takes determination and endless practices.

My father is a long time believer of exercising. He trained me and my two older brothers to exercise every day, rain or shine, hot or cold. Doesn't matter how many hours sleep he has, he always gets up at 5am to accompany us to go jogging or swimming. You can imagine how much I hated exercise when I was young and how much I appreciate his effort as an adult. The intensive training I had at my young age was the main reason why I can still survive by my boys' torture. :)

You can check on other finalists here. The ones in the yellow outfits are the Great Grand Pac Masters.

Isn't that life full of inspiration?

So, stop looking at our blog and get out exercising!
