"A successful man is someone who has lived well, laughed often, and loved much, who has gained the respect of others and the love of children; who leaves the world better than he found it; who never lacked appreciation of earth's beauty ; who always looked for the best in others and gave the best he had. "
- a variation of "Success" by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Crazy Weekends

You know, weekends means more work for the parents. We can no longer confine Alvin in the house and we have been hopping all over the places in the DC metropolitan area just to release his endless energy. We brought Mason to most of our weekend trips since he now enjoys watching his big brother playing.

=== Air and Space Museum ===

Isn't this an amazing picture?

Mason, no worries. There is no gravity in the space. Your overweight problem is not a problem anymore.

Don't we look cute in this duck bib?

=== Baltimore Aquarium ===

It is a beautiful autumn day to the inner harbor aquarium. Thank you for our friends Dong and Rui took us along. Sister Eileen and brother Alex were great companion for Alvin too!

Alvin has been learning BIG and small in his day care. So, seeing the fishes in the aquarium is live study case. For the whole time, Alvin didn't even have time to brink his eyes.

=== Chemyjontri Park ===

This is the second time we enjoyed this wonderful kids-friendly park. Alvin's friend Andy was there too!

Mason recently learned a new facial expression.

No one wants to ride with this reckless pilot.
Mason is learning how to steer.

Do these two look like each other?

Our boys

*** Alvin's Update ***

Alvin is officially in his "Trouble Two" age. He starts to have his own way of thinking and becomes very stubborn. He loves his brother but sometime gets jealous, especially when it comes to toys and sharing parents' loves. He often gets confused about what he wants and crying is the only way to express. But, to parents, he has finally grown up to be a big boy!

Alvin didn't like the play mat when he was a baby. But, since whoever plays on the mat gets parents' attention, he thought he would just give it a try.

Alvin got a gold medal from his summer program.
Does he look like a Disney movie star?

*** Mason's Update ***
Mason still wakes up 2 or 3 times at night for feeding. Through the dim moonlight and her 2:35am eyes, Mom still can change Mason's diaper without a drop on the bed. Feeding, changing diaper and burping, the whole package only takes 15 minutes, and then everyone is happy and back to sleep again.

Mason loves to make faces. He is mom's boy.
I know. It is drooling time again.
Dad often abandons Mason on the rocker with the lion. He seems to be very content.

Around the Country

One after another, Alvin got to know most of the states along the coasts. The way he pronounces the states is way too cute!

We don't know if Mason will have passion for learning like his brother does. But, he is definitely a "bully". He carries that from Mom's family, especially from his uncles. :)

Hike to the Zoo

The past weekend we added some mileage to our double stroller - we hiked in the Rock Creek park and the zoo for a whole day!

You know why they call it "Rock Creek Park" - next to the hiking trail is a beautiful creek with tons of rocks in it. Alvin enjoyed playing with the water and throwing rocks.
Doesn't matter how hot the car seat is or how beautiful the creek is, Mason just loves to sleep through it.

Finally, Mason wakes up during the hike to the zoo.
It was a breezy & comfortable day so the zoo was packed with visitors. It was hard to get a good picture shoot.

Weekend Fun

I don't know what other parents do during the weekends but we don't like to stay home with two boys. It is much easier if we take them out because Alvin will have fun playing stuff (not to bother us constantly) and Mason will sleep in his comfy car seat from the beginning to the end! So, every weekend we find every chance to get out of the house.

Just to show you how busy we are over the weekends. We have pictures to prove!

=== County Farm Tour ===

It is the annual summer Montgomery County Farm Tour event! This time we picked Butler's Orchard Farm in Germantown. Alvin tried on different mini farm equipments and had a scenic hayride!

It turned out that hayride is not that comfortable.
Dad and Alvin entered into "Veggi Race". Kids are supposed to use vegetables to create a racer and they will race with others on a truck! It is a showtime for the creative and handy Daddy!

=== Clayton's 2nd Birthday ===

Clayton had a birthday party at Chuck E' Cheese on his birthday.

Because we are little we are "allowed" to get onto the alley and put the balls into the holes directly! That is an easy way to get rewarded tickets.
=== Washingtonian Center Duck Feeding ===

Alvin is a bread-lover. So, for him, using his bread to feed the duck means sharing foods! Only the cute ducks and geese are the exception!

=== Black Hill Park Hiking ===

We joined Andy and his family for a hike in Black Hill Park. But, at first, Andy showed us how to throw rocks!
Looks like the parents need to teach "Manner 101" to Alvin.
=== Bechtel Company Party ===

We were honored to be invited to Bechtel's Company party in Smoky Glen Farm in Gaithersburg. Besides to the free softdrinks, beers, wines, ice cream and foods, we enjoyed all the fun activities!

=== Daddy's Company Party ===

Every year, Dad's company holds a summer party at 4H camp in Frederick. This year's party was full of fun games for kids.
Alvin stand next to the juice box pond for almost the entire party. He thought he could easily drink out all the juices that way.

At the end of the party, a severe thunderstorm came out from nowhere but at the end Alvin saw the beautiful rainbow the first time.
